Here is a special elastic gold belt that I designed for Christmas. You can use it to accessorize your holiday clothes or to add a holiday flair to your casualwear.

The elastic band has a tan color background with fine metallic gold threads all over the band. The flower applique has been cut in 3 different fabrics with beautiful prints and colors. A cameo with gold background and multi colored flowers has been sewn on flower center. It closes with hook & eyes.

Canita was featured in this week in LA Weekly magazine. For those who don't know this magazine is the largest free paper in Los Angeles, owned by the same parent company as New York City's Village Voice. Kirsten DUNST has it!

The other night we were invited to The Strokes concert at Troubadour. A lot of celebrities showed up. Among them was one of my favourite actresses, Kirsten Dunst. I loved her last performace in "Elizabethtown" as well as her role in "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind". After the show I approached Kirsten at the VIP room and I gave her one of the ties. She was very sweet and she said she really liked it. As I told her, for me is a pleasure that she can have one of my ties. She really has a unique style. I can't wait to she her in the next Sofia Coppola's movie "Marie Antoinette."

Erika CHRISTENSEN has it

These things happen when you have good friends in the right places. My friend Rosana is working in the production of the next Erika Christensen and Nick Stahl movie, "How to rob a bank". The other day, she gave Erika one of the ties. Rosana said that she loved it and that she is eager to wear it. For those who haven't seen it, I would recommend "Flightplan". Erika's performance is captivating and sweet.

We were at Fashion Coop last Saturday. It went very well. As you can see Canita keeps its booth layout consistent. The new clothing line got great acceptance.

Lace CHOKER

This is a very unique choker for both a casual day and a sophisticated night. The main piece is an intricate cluny lace trim that simulates a butterfly. It closes at back with an easy knot so it can adjust to anybody.

Both the lace and the twill tape are hand dyed. Two acrylic stones decorate the cord ends.

Hello everybody!
I hope you are not getting bored while I keep working on the next collection. I promise I will start showing things soon. Today we had all the fabrics cut. For those who don't know how it works, they spread all the fabrics one on top of the other. Then they place the marker on top of them. The marker is a piece of paper where all the pattern pieces that make a tie are traced. Then they start cutting following the lines on the marker. And that's the fashion lesson for today!! Trip to JAPAN

During this week the cosmetic brand M.A.C. held a training convention for 200 head make up artists at the Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills. Sweet Charity was invited to set up a store in one of the salons. During their leisure time, the make up artists could come and do some shopping at the "store". I thought it was a great PR activity. I was there to help Hilary and I was happy to see the great response to the ties and bracelets.

I'm working on the next collection. I think it's the best part but the toughest one too. I am finding really hard to get the right materials. It's a catch-22 situation. Big vendor companies, that offer the best fabrics and prices, don't want to work with small designers. I How can I get big if I can not get the right materials at the right price? The want you to order 60-100 yards minimum. It hurts! How can I meet that with my ties? I'm saying it loud: There should be more companies willing to work with small designers. We are the future, aren't we?

I've recycled some trims that I got to use on the ties, but never did, to make these bracelets. I think they blend both rock 'n roll and romantic styles. My husband says he is going to use them for one of the characters of his next feature film.
